Construction of 42 jackets, fixed foundations to support 7 MW offshore wind turbines for the EA1 offshore wind farm operated by Iberdrola ScottishPower Renewables. WindWaves participates as a subcontractor of Navantia, handling approximately 33% of the total contract volume, totaling over 1,000,000 man-hours of work. The work is being carried out at the Navantia Fene shipyards in Ferrol.
WindWaves completed the project in 12 months, assembling 42 jackets of 850 tons each. The main tasks were:
- Manufacturing Engineering tasks
- Development of manufacturing strategy
- Logistics tasks, including reception, control, and distribution of all structural elements of the jackets
- Scaffolding
- Assembly of the primary structure components of the jackets
- Prefabrication and assembly of secondary structures of the jackets
- Dimensional control and NDT of the entire lattice structure
- Quality control of the entire jacket
